RULE CLARIFICATION

G6.3 in the 2012 rulebook includes a new rules which restricts horses being used for the Novice or higher tests in the Open Dressage at Lincoln and then taking part in the Winter Dressage in the Prelim tests.

It states:
No horse or pony can compete in a Novice or higher dressage test followed by a Prelim dressage test in the same competition year.

Therefore, if you competed in the Novice Team competition at Lincoln where you would have competed in a Prelim test, then you can if you choose to, take part in the Novice tests in the Winter Dressage competition. But not the other way around. This is to encourage progression and discourage better horses being used in the Prelim tests.

HAT TAGGING INFORMATION

FLU VAC CERTIFICATES

Please ensure that full and complete copies are sent to Danni Taylor either scanned and sent to Danni via e-mail at d.taylorlecabanon@btopenworld.com or by post to Le Cabanon, Church Road, Randwick, Stroud, Glos GL6 6HJ. If you would like a copy of your Club's database of all the passports which are included for your Club then please drop Danni an e-mail and she will forward a copy of the database to you. Just another small plea - please do not leave sending passports until the very last minute as they may not get checked in time, ideally if passports could be received no later than 10 days prior to an event this will help enormously.

DOWNGRADING FORM

From 1 January 2011 BRC changed the rules regarding downgrading for BRC competitions. As a result of feedback from our members we have decided that anyone who would like to downgrade their horse for BRC competitions can complete a downgrading form and support it with an accompanying letter explaining why they wish to downgrade their horse. We will be looking at each application on a case by case basis, taking into consideration the horse and riders age, past achievements, injuries and current levels of performance. Downgrading officially re-opens on 26 September. Forms are available in Word and PDF. For any queries regarding downgrading please contact Rachael r.hollely@bhs.org.uk 02476 840597
